Whitefield Community Primary School

Welcome to Early Years...

Hello and welcome to Early Years at Whitefield Community Primary School. In our unit we aim to provide the very best early experiences of school life, making it a thoroughly enjoyable and exciting year for your child in a happy and safe environment. We work towards achieving the Early Learning Goals stated within the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, through the provision of high quality learning experiences and opportunities to enable your child to achieve and reach their learning and development potential. Children in our class are encouraged to become independent learners and to take some responsibility for initiating their own lines of enquiry and investigation through play.

The Early Years team are: Mrs Goddard (EYFS Leader), Miss Taylor and Mrs Ryan. We are looking forward to working with you and your child/ren.

Your child will have PE with Mr Parker every Thursday.

Class Information

Your child will be given a school book bag which they will need to bring in to school every day, this is so that they can proudly share the Whitefield name as they come to and from school, and most importantly so that they can choose a class library book to take home once a week.  We will also put any important information you may need inside and your child's work when we are sharing some of our learning with you.

Children only need to bring their book bags to school each day. They can leave their P.E. kits on their pegs and we will send them home at the end of each half term to be washed.

Please could you make sure that all clothing is named, including P.E. kits and book bags. It makes it much easier for us to reunite lost clothing when it has a name in it. Our P.E. session is on a Thursday.

Your child will have PE on Tuesday each week with Mr Parker. Children are expected to wear a full P.E. kit and suitable trainers or pumps.

Children can bring a water bottle to school each day filled with water only. Please make sure that the bottles are labelled so that we can give them out again each night.

If you have any questions, you are unsure about anything or you would just like to introduce yourself, our EYFS are happy to help and love to meet and chat to parents regularly. Please see one of the team who will be happy to help.
